As part of the celebrations for May 15, Kurdish Language Day<\/strong>, the city of Wan hosted the Spring of Children – N\u00fbbihara Bi\u00e7\u00fbkan<\/strong> poetry recitation competition, bringing together children from several cities across Northern Kurdistan in a vibrant and enthusiastic event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Organized through the collaboration of Akademy, the Ehmed\u00ea Xan\u00ee Institute, and N\u00fbbihar<\/strong>, the competition was held to mark Kurdish Language Day and encourage children’s engagement with the Kurdish language. The event took place at the conference hall of the Wan Chamber of Commerce and Industry <\/strong> and attracted significant public interest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

151 Children from Seven Cities Participated<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The competition, which aims to strengthen children’s connection to their mother tongue and Kurdish literature, welcomed participants from seven cities: Wan, Colemerg, Elih, Amed, Sert \u00fb Bedlis.<\/strong> A total of 151 children<\/strong> applied to take part.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following an evaluation by the jury, 20 finalists<\/strong> were selected to perform on stage, where they recited Kurdish poems with remarkable skill and confidence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Winners and Awards<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

At the conclusion of the competition, the following participants received the top awards:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Songul Din\u00e7er<\/strong> \u2013 First Place<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Delal Duman<\/strong> \u2013 Second Place<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Gul Kaya<\/strong> \u2013 Third Place<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Successful participants were awarded prizes including a quarter gold coin, a tablet computer, a smartwatch, and cash prizes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Artists Added Color to the Event<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Presented by Macit Orhan<\/strong> and Cahide Ko\u00e7<\/strong>, the program evolved into a lively cultural festival thanks to the participation of several artists. Renowned dengbej<\/strong> (traditional Kurdish singer) Taha Bozdemir<\/strong>, along with artists Neslihan Edi<\/strong>s and Shivan Ula<\/strong>s, delighted the audience with Kurdish songs and performances, further enhancing the excitement of the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Representatives of the organizing institutions emphasized that the competition is not merely a contest but also an effort to preserve and promote the Kurdish language among younger generations. They stated their intention to continue organizing the \u201cSpring of Children\u201d<\/strong> competition in the coming years and to establish it as a lasting tradition that helps children grow up connected to their language, culture, and heritage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
